Brake Disc Common Material

With the rapid development of modern technology, like other brake systems, brake pads themselves have been evolving and changing in recent years.

The friction material can be divided into asbestos, NAO type (i.e, non-asbestos organic type), semi-metal and special fiber 4 kinds.

1、Asbestos-type brake disc (because of the risk of cancer being replaced by NAO)

Type of asbestos brake lining from the very beginning when asbestos has already been used as a brake pads reinforced material, because the asbestos fiber has the characteristics of high strength and high temperature resistant, so it can meet the requirements of brake pads and clutch disc and pad. 2、No asbestos organic brake disc (NAO)

NAO type brake pad materials has experienced several changes, the NAO materials in many ways have effectively more than the performance of asbestos brake pad, this is mainly in antifriction performance and noise etc.

3、"half metal" mixture type brake disc

The semi-metal mixtures (semi-met) are mainly made of coarse steel wool as a reinforcing fibre and an important mixture. (from the appearance of fine fiber and particle) can be easily to the asbestos and non-asbestos organic brake pads (NAO), they also have a certain magnetism.

4、Special fiber type brake disc

New high-tech products developed in the 21st century, green products. Has high temperature resistance, good thermal performance decline, stable friction coefficient, without causing the brake disc rust, the brake disc wear little, its abrasion resistance, long service life, easy break-in, smooth braking. But its raw materials are expensive. The production process is complex, the product cost is higher. In terms of overall cost, special fiber brake pads are much lower, which will be a big trend in the future
